1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:

The cost of a 20-milligram dose of sildenafil in the United States this month may be lower than the cost of 50 milligrams, a from the latest study. Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, costs around $70 a dose, according to data from the National Drug Code (NDC).
The results, published in theNew England Journal of Medicineon Sunday, are the first to compare the cost of a 20-milligram dose of sildenafil at $70 a pill with Viagra’s brand-name equivalent, Viagra Connect, a 60-milligram dose. Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra.
The NDC data were based on a database of prescriptions filled by more than 1,000 U. S. pharmacies. The researchers found that the 20-milligram dose of sildenafil at $70 a pill at the National Drug Code (NDC) had a cost of $6.03 a pill, compared to a cost of $1.96 for Viagra.
Sildenafil was only slightly more expensive at $1.73 per milligram, compared to $6.03 for Viagra. The most expensive brand-name drug was Viagra Connect, with $1.58 per milligram compared to $6.03 for sildenafil.
Sildenafil is still the second most expensive drug in the U. Viagra was the least expensive drug in the study, with $1.04 per milligram, from a generic competitor. The U. generic drug market is expected to grow at the fastest pace in more than a decade.
The researchers said the results suggest that the U. generic drug market is not as dominant as it once was. Viagra’s U. patent on the drug expired in December, paving the way for generic competition in other key areas of medicine.
“This is a market that is very much dominated by generic drug manufacturers and not by brand name manufacturers,” said study co-author Dr. David Kocsis, director of the National Drug Code.
“We know that in the United States, it’s pretty much a byproduct, and that’s why prices are high, because the brand name companies are getting away with this. And they’re taking advantage of the drug price.”
The researchers said they are also considering other potential substitutes, including sildenafil citrate, which is more readily available in some countries. Sildenafil citrate is also still available in some countries, but Kocsis said the U. market is not as dominant as it once was.
The NDC data were based on data from 1,921 U. pharmacies, which are among the most popular U. online pharmacies for erectile dysfunction drugs.
Viagra was the top-selling erectile dysfunction medication in the U. S., with $2.06 billion in prescriptions in 2018, according to data from the National Drug Code. It is the second-best-selling medicine in the U. S., behind other top-selling drugs like Viagra and Cialis.
Viagra Connect, which is still the second most-expensive drug in the U. S., is expected to hit the U. market in the next few years, and sildenafil remains the second-best-selling drug in the U. Sildenafil, with $1.58 per milligram, came into trade in the fourth quarter of 2018,.
“The market for the top selling ED medications is dominated by generic drug manufacturers,” Kocsis said.
“So it’s important that we’re getting a really competitive market.”
Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, is the only drug on the market that is FDA-approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It is available in many other countries, including the U.
In the NDC data, sildenafil at a price of $1.73 per milligram was the lowest-cost brand-name drug, with $6.03 per milligram.
A 50-milligram sildenafil dose of sildenafil costs $6.03 per milligram, compared with $1.96 for Viagra Connect.

For erectile dysfunction, it's best to take sildenafil on an empty stomach. It may take longer to work if you take it with food.
If you or your child are taking sildenafil as a liquid, 1ml is usually the same as taking a 10mg tablet, but it's important to always check the medicine label.
Liquid sildenafil will usually be made up for you by your pharmacist.
The medicine will come with a plastic syringe or spoon to help you take the right amount. If you do not have a plastic syringe or spoon, ask your pharmacist for one. Do not use a kitchen teaspoon as it will not measure the right amount.
Taking too much sildenafil can cause unpleasant side effects.
Talk to your doctor if you take too much sildenafil and you're worried about any of these side effects:
If you experience any of the following about sildenafil, speak to your doctor or pharmacist directly.
Sildenafil tablets can reduce the effectiveness of sex-OVA treatments (ovulation and erection-producing sex areas). If you take too much sildenafil, it could lead to sexual problems for both you and your doctor.
Liquid sildenafil may be lost in the blood after 5-10 minutes. If it's been 5-10 minutes, there is also a chance it can affect driving or operating machinery.
For erectile dysfunction, take sildenafil at the same time as food. If your doctor determines that no changes are made, they may increase the time it takes your doctor to take your medicine.
If you take too much sildenafil, you could cause a sudden and serious side effect. If you take too much sildenafil and you faint, require medical attention or have had a stroke, or if you have any of the following conditions:
If you take too much sildenafil and you become pregnant, your doctor will prescribe a medicine that could harm your unborn baby. Pregnant men should avoid sexual activity because of the risk of dizziness or vision changes.
Some medicines can affect how sildenafil works. Do not take sildenafil with any other medicines containing sildenafil or with sildenafil derivatives mentioned here.
